Session Q&A

About MFR Session

What are the benefits of Myofascial Release?

Myofascial Release can help release chronic muscular tensions and pains, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure.  Myofascial Release is also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety and create an overall sense of well-being.

How does a client feel during a typical Myofascial Release session?

As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased to relax specific areas and relieve areas of muscular tension.  You should communicate immediately if you feel uncomfortable with a technique so that another approach may be taken.  Myofascial Release is most effective when your body is not resisting.

What should I wear during the Myofascial Release session?

If you are a woman you should wear a two-piece bathing suit or other stretchy type of clothing, such as loose shorts and a sports bra.  If you are a man you should wear loose shorts or swim shorts.  This facilitates the initial postural evaluation and the natural movement of the body during treatment.

How does client feel after a Myofascial Release session?

Most people feel very relaxed.  Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity.  After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity.  Since toxins are released from your soft tissues during the Myofascial Release session, it is very important that you drink plenty of water following your session to flush the toxins out.

Do you work with children?

Yes, only with the parents and child’s consent.  If the child is under 16 the parent must be present at the session.

Are there any medical conditions that would make Myofascial Release inadvisable?

Yes.  That’s why it’s imperative that before you begin your session, the practitioner asks general health questions.  It is very important that you inform the practitioner of any health problems or medications you are taking.  If you are under a doctor’s care, it is strongly advised that you receive a written recommendation for Myofascial Release prior to the session.  Depending on the condition, approval from your doctor may be required.

What should I do if something comes up and I can’t make it to the session?

Please reschedule your appointment ASAP should your plan change so as to allow another client to take the time available.  Please honor and respect one another’s time and commitment to each other.  Thank you.

Do you take insurance?

We do not file insurance claims for clients, however, we will provide a receipt.

What is your payment policy?

Full payment is expected at time of session unless client bought a package, which is repaid.  We accept cash and credit card. Due to Covid-19 your therapist will be wearing a N95 Mask. Client is advised to wear a mask when possible. A disposable mask is available at request.
